In March 2018, New Orleans Chapter members, Germaine Davillier and Tracey Flemings-Davillier, accompanied The Pontchartrain Chapter and its International Trends and Services Chair, Leila Eames, on the Pontchartrain Chapter’s annual mission to Haiti. Links members visited the Foyer Espoir Les Enfants (FEPE) orphanage and Ecole Foyer Espoir (EFE) School in Port of Prince. Additionally, the chapter donated funds to the Hope for Haitian Children’s Foundation, Inc., which foundation supports the Foyer Espoir Les Enfants orphanage and Ecole Foyer Espoir School. The donation will be used for much needed basic first aid items, hygiene supplies, infant supplies, educational supplies and tools and other items such as flash lights and batteries, t-shirts and towels that are always in short supply.
The New Orleans Chapter has consistently helped Haiti over many years and was happy to put boots on the ground to positively impact the Haitian community.
