The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s 11th Annual HBCU Art Showcase exhibited at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art through September 19, 2024. To celebrate this riveting exhibition, the Chapter and the Ogden Museum hosted a culminating reception honoring the HBCU artists and creators from Dillard University and Xavier University New Orleans, university art professors, John Barnes, Ron Bechet, and MaPo Kinnord, and museum directors and curators.
Spotlighting the work of young fledging artists and the local HBCU institutions which cultivate their craft and careers is an honor. The Chapter’s mission is to extend a real life opportunity for the students to learn and expand future opportunities within the art world. To date, over 125 HBCU artists from Louisiana’s five HBCUs have participated in the annual showcase.
The Ogden stated, “The HBCU Art Showcase has become a highlight in Ogden Museum’s exhibition calendar and an important component in the advancement towards racial equity.”
