Link*ish ~ The Homecoming Edition

The 2024 New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s Annual Retreat focused on celebrating our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and ensuring that the legacy of those revered institutions of learning is sustained and thriving in the years to come.

The Links, Incorporated celebrates HBCU Awareness. Since the mid-1800s, Historically Black Colleges and Universities have contributed to the transformation of America. HBCUs are institutions that were founded before the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to provide an avenue for post-secondary and higher education for African Americans. As historic pillars of higher learning and career preparation, HBCUs have provided pathways of success and upward mobility for people of African descent. HBCUs have produced: 20% of all Black college graduates, 25% of STEM graduates, 50% of doctors and lawyers and 80% of judges. Supporting HBCUs today helps increase our community’s impact tomorrow.
