Arts students from Dillard University and Xavier University of New Orleans were honored to have the opportunity to showcase their work at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art during White Linen Night on August 4, 2018. The exhibit provided the students with an entree into the real world of art and was a valuable networking opportunity. New Orleans Links chapter members, friends, family and university professors were on hand to celebrate the students.
The New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, through its Arts facet, works to foster and support arts education in our schools – whether that be in music, acting, or theater – from primary school through college. We seek to sow the seed of creativity in our community.
Throughout the nation today, Links chapters partner with museums, symphonies, arts councils, educational institutes and corporations in order to support art programs, especially where there is a focus on artists of color. Links are creating and supporting opportunities for educating minority youth in the arts and presenting and supporting performances by youth and accomplished professional artists in a diversity of disciplines.
