New Orleans Chapter members were deployed to three recreational centers in New Orleans on March 4, 2017 (Joe Brown, Treme, and the Lyons Centers) to volunteer with the National Dental Association at the NORDC Summer Camp Expo. Local dentists provided children with free dental screenings and fluoride varnishes.
The National Oral Health initiative of The Links, Incorporated works toward:
- Helping families become knowledgeable about how oral health affects the body;
- Providing children free education and screenings;
- Providing families referrals to dentists willing to provide services for free and/or at nominal costs; and
- Helping families become knowledgeable about how diet affects dental care.
