HBCU Arts Showcase

HBCU-Artrist-Kara_Crowley_Beloved_ladyThe New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, in partnership with the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, presented its annual Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU) Arts Showcase.  The art exhibition is a curated show of works from students attending HBCUs in Louisiana, including Xavier University of Louisiana; Dillard University; Southern University at New Orleans; Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College (Baton Rouge); and Grambling State University.

Ellen Balkin, Ogden Museum Education Coordinator, said “We are thrilled to partner with the New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated to present this special exhibition. We look forward to welcoming the artists, members of the New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and the public to the Museum for the opening on Whitney White Linen Night to celebrate these talented students.”

The showcase was exhibited on Saturday, August 1, 2015 during Whitney White Linen Night.  The Ogden Museum is located at 925 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.

HBCU_2015_Veronica Carter, Miles, Mingus and Trane, Oil on Canvas 2014The Ogden Museum admission policy (after the August 1 opening reception) is as follows: Admission is free to Louisiana residents on Thursdays from 10AM – 5PM.  Admission is free to museum members and UNO students and faculty.  Admission is free to children under five years old.  Adult admission is $10. Children (5-17) admission is $5. College Student admission is $8.
